We loaded the bus at 4am and departed Mercersburg. Everyone was excited, despite the lack of sleep. The drive went smoothly, and we arrived at BWI on time.
In fact, after speeding through security, we had over two hours before departure. (We still have over an hour.) We take off at 8:40am. Then we're off to San Jose to start our Costa Rica adventure. Stay tuned for more updates!
Mercersburg Academy is making its 8th trip to Costa Rica, a tradition that started in 2006 and has been biennial since 2009. Faculty and students volunteer their labor at the Cloud Forest School in Monteverde in the mountains for five days. There are also recreational/cultural visits to the capital of San Jose to start the trip and La Fortuna to finish off the trip. Trip leader Trini Hoffman is making her 7th appearance on this trip while Assistant leader Jeff Cohen is making his 6th.
Great Job getting them all there safe and sound to your beautiful destination!
