Dinner/Adventure

We thought we'd go back to one of our original restaurants - the one that we used to go to the last night of our trip back in the day. As it turns out, that restaurant is no longer the Italian place it once was. When we got there, we asked the server/hostess/only-person-we-saw what the deal was. She spoke zero English. We soon figured out, after trying for some time to converse successfully, that the place just opened four days ago. Not only was our Italian place gone, but there had been another place there since it closed. We thought we'd give it a try, though. Why not?

Well, let's just say it was an adventure. Even walking there was an adventure. The food was delicious. It just took forever to arrive, and the first person had her food about 30-40 minutes before the last person was served his food. They were still figuring things out, but they were very nice, and they cooked up some good food. We were there for over two hours, yet we were the only customers at every moment during that span of time.

Perhaps the most entertaining nugget from this restaurant excursion...Ethan was told, well after half of us were served already, that they had run out of rice, and he'd need to choose a different side. Yes. They ran out of rice. In Costa Rica.

That's all for today, folks! Tomorrow we eat breakfast and then travel to Monteverde and meet our homestay families.

More than two hours after walking in...

Crossing the street can be a challenge.
