Morning on the zip lines

We began the day by taking two taxis to Sky Trek - our preferred zip line establishment. The only issue was that it was rainy, windy and cold. We were mainly concerned about wind, though. We completed the course in high winds once before (with rain, mind you), and it was frightening.

Trini made the call when we reached the top of the lift that we could start the zip lines, and the students jumped at the chance. Still, there was wind and rain. Regardless of the adverse conditions, the group (joined by a man named Phil, hailing from Texas) had a great time. The students would certainly have loved completing the course again. Of the eight zip lines we completed, three of them required us to pair up and ride tandem. The reasoning behind it? We needed more weight and thus speed. The guides do not want us getting stuck on the line (thank goodness). No one ended up stuck out there today.

Getting clear pictures was tough, due not only to the nature of the activity but also due to the weather conditions. Some are included below, with the rest eventually finding their way to Dropbox.

The group gets a lesson before starting

Felix, Ethan and Chris Doyle riding up to the first zip line

Before photo (we're all clean)

Gwen, Lara and Ella before the first zip line - note how wet it is

Proof that Ella, who was initially nervous, had a great time

Ethan waiting to be let go (it can be quite the nerve-wracking situation)

Ella appearing from deep in the fog - a sight we saw almost the entire time

They just love group shots

Gwen and Felix arriving together on a tandem line

After photo (yeah, now we're dirty)
