The first day comes to a close

We landed safely in San Jose but we subjected to about an hour wait getting through customs. We finally made it, though, and quickly found our cabs.

The drive to the hotel, though, which usually takes under 30 minutes, took well over an hour due to construction. It was pretty miserable, but everyone did manage to remain in good spirits.

The hotel treated us all to a papaya-based drink, and we relaxed a bit until departing for dinner. We ate at a restaurant down in the shopping area, and it was very good. There was even some dancing...

Following the meal, we walked around town and saw the sights a bit, although most stores closed early.

It's now just about 9:00pm local time, and we are back at the hotel and in for the night. It's been a long day, and we need to rest. Tomorrow we will visit the markets and museums.

Pura vida!
